Espiritu Santo Island, Sea Lions & Paddleboard Adventure
Espiritu Santo Island, Sea Lions & Paddleboard Adventure is a water activity in Cabo rated 5.0/5 by 16 Viator travelers; from about $249 per person; lasts 7 hours.
About
This is a full-day trip to Espíritu Santo Island, a protected UNESCO biosphere reserve in the Sea of Cortez — about two hours north of Cabo. You'll snorkel with a sea lion colony (they're curious and surprisingly playful in the water), paddleboard in shallow turquoise bays, and stop at a couple of snorkel spots where the reef comes right up to the volcanic cliffs. The island itself is uninhabited and feels remote in a way the Cabo coast doesn't. The seven-hour format is standard for La Paz-based island tours, and the small group size (reflected in the rating from 16 reviews) keeps the beach stops manageable. You're looking at early morning pickups if you're coming from Cabo proper, since the boat leaves from La Paz. Bring reef-safe sunscreen and layers — the ride out can be choppy and cooler than you'd think. The sea lions are the main event, but the water clarity and the lack of crowds are what people remember.
