About

East Cape Beach sits at the end of Camino Cabo Este, past Buzzards Bar and Grill, where the Sea of Cortez coastline starts to feel genuinely remote. You're well outside the hotel zone here — the road narrows, the last landmark is a dive bar, and then it's sand and water with no one watching the tide. Swimming is possible but requires judgment. There are no lifeguards, and conditions shift with the season and the wind. The Sea of Cortez is generally calmer than the Pacific side, but "remote" means you're on your own if something goes sideways. Strong swimmers who check the water before going in will be fine. Families with small kids should stay shallow or skip it. The appeal is the solitude. If you want a beach day without the resort infrastructure and you're comfortable making your own calls about the conditions, this is the trade-off: space and quiet, no safety net.
