About

Playa Buenos Aires sits along Highway 1 about halfway between Cabo San Lucas and Todos Santos, on the raw Pacific side. It's one of those wide, empty stretches where the sand goes on forever and the ocean doesn't pretend to be friendly. Strong currents and shore break make swimming dangerous here—this is open-ocean coastline, and the waves come in hard. People stop for the view, to walk the beach, or to watch surfers who know what they're doing. The isolation is the appeal. You won't find vendors or beach clubs, just dunes and the sound of the water. Bring shade if you're staying long, and don't turn your back on the surf. If you want a swim, this isn't it. If you want a stretch of coast that still feels wild and unmanaged, Buenos Aires delivers.
