Sakow Sushi is a $$ sushi & japanese local restaurant in Cabo San Lucas rated 5.0/5 by 22 TripAdvisor reviewers; walk-ins welcome.

About

Sakow Sushi occupies a second-floor spot above the Friendly Market in El Tezal, and that unusual location is part of what makes it work. It's a proper sushi counter run by a Japanese chef, not a tourist roll factory, and the 5/5 rating across food, value, and service from 22 reviews suggests people are finding it. The fish quality holds up against anything in the hotel zone, but the prices don't follow the same logic — mid-range here means accessible, not cut-rate. The atmosphere rating sits at 4.0, which tracks: you're above a grocery store, not overlooking the marina. But if you care more about what's on the plate than the view out the window, that trade works. El Tezal is residential, so this feels more like a neighborhood spot that tourists are slowly catching onto than a place designed for them from the start.

Tours & things to do nearby

Arch of Cabo San Lucas

The Arch sits at the southern tip of the Baja peninsula, where the Pacific meets the Sea of Cortez. You reach it by water taxi from the marina or Médano Beach — most people do a quick loop, snap photos, and head back. The 4.8 rating across nearly 9,000 reviews reflects what it is: a reliable postcard moment, no tricks. The rock formation marks Land's End, and depending on the tide, you'll see sea lion colonies on the rocks and sometimes pelicans stacked on the outcroppings. Water taxis run constantly during daylight hours, and some will drop you at Lover's Beach on the Cortez side if you want to wade. The Pacific side (Divorce Beach) has a serious undertow — people look, they don't swim. It's the thing everyone does once. Go early or late to dodge the midday boat clusters. The ride out takes ten minutes, you get your shot, and you're done. If you skip it, you'll end up seeing it from every other boat trip anyway.

Blue Sky Cabo Fishing and Tours

Blue Sky Cabo Fishing and Tours operates from F Dock in the Cabo San Lucas marina, and the 5 out of 5 rating across nearly 6,000 reviews puts them in rare territory. Most charter operations in Cabo cluster around 4.5 stars — this one doesn't. The volume matters as much as the score. Five thousand reviews means hundreds of boats went out, came back, and enough people felt compelled to say something that the average held. That's consistency at scale, which is harder to fake than a handful of perfect scores. Whether it's the crew, the boat condition, or how they handle rough days, something's working. They run fishing charters and tours from the marina, which is the standard launching point for anything heading into the Sea of Cortez or around the arch. If you're comparing operators, this is one where the data actually separates from the pack.

All Ways Cabo Transportation

All Ways Cabo Transportation runs airport pickups and private transfers around the Los Cabos corridor. The 5-star rating across more than 4,300 reviews suggests consistent execution on something simple: drivers show up on time, vehicles are clean, and you don't haggle at baggage claim. They're based in El Tezal, just inland from Cabo San Lucas, which keeps them close to the airport run. The volume of feedback points to reliable logistics — useful when you're coordinating flights, resort check-ins, or day trips between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Private transport here cuts out the shuttle wait and the shared-van detours. You book in advance, someone meets you with a sign, and you're moving. If your group has gear, golf clubs, or you're just not interested in figuring out taxi rates after a flight, this is the straightforward option.

Bar Esquina Los Cabos

Bar Esquina sits on El Médano beach in Cabo San Lucas, right where the sand meets the foot traffic. It's a corner spot that pulls double duty as a daytime beach bar and a proper dinner destination after sunset. The 4.8 atmosphere rating makes sense once you're there — you're basically on the sand with unobstructed water views and string lights overhead. The kitchen turns out solid Mexican and seafood plates that hold up against the 4.6 food score, and service moves at the same clip. It's priced mid-range, which for beachfront in Cabo means you're paying for location but not getting gouged. The value rating of 4.3 suggests people feel it's fair for what you get. Come for lunch with wet hair or stay through dinner — it works either way. The place fills up during high season, so timing matters if you want a table with a view.

Mango Deck

Mango Deck is a beach restaurant on Medano, Cabo San Lucas's main swimming beach, and it leans hard into the party vibe. The atmosphere rating is the highest of the four subratings, which tracks — you're here for the scene as much as the fish tacos. Tables sit right on the sand, and the crowd skews younger and louder as the day goes on. The food holds its own at a solid 4.0, which is respectable for a place moving this much volume. Service keeps pace at 4.1, though value dips to 3.8 — you're paying a premium for the location and the energy. The 4.1 overall rating across nearly 4,000 reviews suggests consistency, if not transcendence. If you want Medano Beach with minimal friction — chairs, shade, cold drinks, something fried — Mango Deck delivers. Just know what you're walking into. It's louder than your hotel pool and more efficient than most palapa setups down the sand.

Tacos Gardenias

Tacos Gardenias is on Paseo a la Marina in Cabo San Lucas, a block off the tourist strip but right in the flow of foot traffic. It's a taco stand with a roof and a few tables—atmosphere isn't the draw. The draw is that 1,477 reviews still hold a 4.6, and the food and value scores match exactly at 4.6. That kind of consistency at this price point is rare. The menu is short: asada, pastor, fish, shrimp, the standards. They move fast, portions are honest, and the salsas do the work. Service gets a 4.4, which for a high-volume cheap-eats spot means they keep things civil even when it's packed. You'll see locals in line, which settles the question of whether it's worth the walk from the marina. Cash moves things faster.

Cabo San Lucas

Pueblo Bonito Rosé Resort & Spa

Pueblo Bonito Rosé sits right on Playa El Médano in Cabo San Lucas, which means you're walking distance from the marina and downtown but still on the best swimming beach in the area. The 4.8 location score makes sense — it's one of the few resorts where you can actually swim without getting pounded by surf, and you can walk to restaurants and bars when you're done with the pool. The property skews traditional all-inclusive resort, and with nearly 10,000 reviews holding at 4.5 overall, it clearly works for a lot of people. Service ratings match the overall score, so expect attentive staff. Rooms and sleep quality come in slightly lower at 4.1 and 4.2, which is honest — this isn't a new build, and some units show their age. The value rating at 4.2 suggests the all-inclusive pricing feels fair for what you get. If you want calm water, walkable access to town, and a full-service setup without driving everywhere, this checks the boxes.

Cabo San Lucas

Pueblo Bonito Blanco Los Cabos Beach Resort

Pueblo Bonito Blanco sits on Médano Beach in Cabo San Lucas, which means you're a short walk from the marina and downtown restaurants, but you can still plant yourself on the sand without moving. The 4.8 location score explains most of the appeal — Médano is the only swimmable beach in town, and the resort has direct access. With nearly 7,000 reviews holding a 4.6 overall, it's proven reliable at scale. The rooms rate lower than service and cleanliness, which tells you where the operation focuses its energy. It's a solid midrange pick if you want beachfront positioning without boutique pricing, though don't expect cutting-edge interiors. The layout is sprawling and a bit dated in spots, but the staff consistently pulls higher marks than the hardware. If your priority is waking up on Médano and being able to walk to the action in town, the location math works.

Cabo San Lucas

The Cape A Thompson Hotel By Hyatt

The Cape sits on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas, where the surf is rougher and the scene is quieter than the marina corridor. A 4.8 rating across nearly 4,600 reviews is rare for a hotel at this scale, and the consistency shows — rooms, service, cleanliness, and sleep quality all land at 4.8. That kind of alignment usually means the property delivers what it promises without the usual resort shortcuts. The location trades calm swimming water for dramatic coastline and sunset views. It's a deliberate choice — this isn't the marina postcard, it's the open-ocean version. The value subrating at 4.5 suggests the price point is noticed but not a dealbreaker for most guests. If you want a beach where you can actually wade in, this isn't it. If you want a pool scene with ocean backdrop and a resort that executes well on the details, it makes sense.

Fabric Sushi Bar Cabo San Lucas

Fabric Sushi Bar sits in Plaza Novva in Cabo San Lucas, a few blocks inland from the marina. The 4.8 rating across 448 reviews holds consistent through every subcategory — food, value, service, atmosphere — which is rare for mid-range sushi in a tourist town. Most places wobble somewhere, but this one doesn't. The kitchen leans modern rather than traditional, and the value score suggests portions or pricing or both work in your favor. Service sits at 4.8, which at this review count usually means they're running a tight floor and people remember being looked after. The atmosphere rating trails slightly but still clears 4.7, so expect something relaxed rather than sceney. It's not beachfront, and it's not trying to be. If you want consistent fish and actual execution without the markup that comes with an ocean view, this is the play.

Cabo San Lucas

La Casita Restaurant Bar CSL

La Casita sits a few blocks inland from the marina in downtown Cabo San Lucas, tucked between Guerrero and Miguel Hidalgo. It's a 49-review spot with a perfect 5.0 overall and subratings that back it up—4.9 for food, 4.8 for service, 4.7 for value. Mid-range pricing means you're not overpaying for the location, and the consistency across categories suggests they're doing something right with execution and ingredients. The tight footprint means reservations probably help, especially in high season. The name translates to "the little house," which fits—this isn't a scene or a views play. It's the kind of place locals use when they want to eat well without the marina markup or the resort crowd.
