About

OR Cabo Boutique Residences sits in the Pedregal neighborhood above Cabo San Lucas, where the streets get steeper and the condos thin out. It's a small property — boutique means boutique here — and the perfect subratings across rooms, sleep quality, and cleanliness suggest they're running a tight operation. The location score reflects what you'd expect from Pedregal: elevated views, quieter than the marina, but you'll need a car or rideshare to get down to the beach or restaurants. The 5.0 value rating is notable at this tier. Four reviews isn't a deep sample, but when every category lands at perfect, it usually means the place delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it's not. If you're looking for a residential-style stay with space to spread out and you don't need a pool scene or on-site dining, this setup makes sense.

The Cape A Thompson Hotel By Hyatt

The Cape sits on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas, where the surf is rougher and the scene is quieter than the marina corridor. A 4.8 rating across nearly 4,600 reviews is rare for a hotel at this scale, and the consistency shows — rooms, service, cleanliness, and sleep quality all land at 4.8. That kind of alignment usually means the property delivers what it promises without the usual resort shortcuts. The location trades calm swimming water for dramatic coastline and sunset views. It's a deliberate choice — this isn't the marina postcard, it's the open-ocean version. The value subrating at 4.5 suggests the price point is noticed but not a dealbreaker for most guests. If you want a beach where you can actually wade in, this isn't it. If you want a pool scene with ocean backdrop and a resort that executes well on the details, it makes sense.

Vista Encantada Spa Resort & Residences

Vista Encantada sits on the Transpeninsular Highway just north of Cabo San Lucas, close enough to town but removed from the noise. The 4.9 overall rating across 2,600+ reviews puts it at the top of the local pack, and the consistency across subratings — rooms, service, cleanliness all at 4.8 — suggests the place actually runs the way it's supposed to. The sleep quality number stands out because it's not automatic at resorts: 4.7 means they're controlling something beyond the mattress, probably noise and AC. The value rating at 4.6 is honest for what you're getting, which is spa-forward accommodations with condo-style residences for longer stays. The location score reflects the practical middle ground: you're not on the marina strip, but you're not stuck on a hillside either. It's a straightforward pick if you want the resort amenities without the chaos of Médano Beach and you don't mind a short drive into downtown Cabo San Lucas.

Hotel Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas

Hotel Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas anchors the southern stretch of Médano Beach, steps from the marina and the action in downtown Cabo San Lucas. The location rating of 4.5 out of 5 tracks — you're walking distance to the arch tour boats and the string of beachfront bars, but the resort itself faces calmer water than the open-ocean properties farther north. Service stands out here, rated 4.4 compared to the overall 4.1. Cleanliness matches that at 4.5, which matters in an all-inclusive where shared spaces get heavy traffic. The value score of 4.2 suggests the rate holds up against what you're getting, though this is a big property and the experience skews toward families and groups rather than seclusion. Rooms and sleep quality both clock in at 4.1 — functional and clean, not boutique. If you want to be on Médano Beach with easy access to town and you're comfortable in a full-scale resort environment, the numbers support it.

Sunset Monalisa

Sunset Monalisa sits on the Pacific cliffs in the Misiones del Cabo area of Cabo San Lucas, and the 4.9 atmosphere score tells you why people come — the view is the menu's co-star. The food holds its own at 4.5, and the kitchen takes fine dining seriously without the usual resort-town corner-cutting. Service runs tight at 4.7, which matters when you're paying fine-dining prices and the place is pulling over eight thousand reviews. The value rating sits at 4.3, which is honest — you're paying for the location and the execution, not for a deal. But the overall 4.8 across that volume of feedback means they're consistent, and consistency at this level in Cabo isn't common. If you're going to do one splurge dinner with a view, this is the reliable play. Reservations move, especially near sunset. The road up is narrow and the parking is tight, so plan the arrival.

Cabo San Lucas

Rosa Negra Cabo Restaurant

Rosa Negra sits on the Transpeninsular just north of Cabo San Lucas, and the 4.9 rating across 3,000+ reviews tells you it's executing at a level most fine-dining spots never hit. The food scores nearly as high as the atmosphere, which is unusual — usually one eclipses the other. Here the kitchen and the room are both doing the work, and the 4.6 value score suggests you're not just paying for the lighting. The atmosphere rating is perfect, and that tracks with the Latin American theatrical dining Rosa Negra does across its locations — live music, tableside fire, servers who move. It's loud, it's a show, and if you want a quiet anniversary dinner this isn't it. If you want energy and food that holds up under the performance, it works. Fine dining here means you're spending, but the value subrating says people left feeling like the tab made sense.

Tourist Corridor

Toro Latin Kitchen & Bar

Toro Latin Kitchen & Bar is tucked into the Ballena Zone on the corridor between the two Cabos, and the 4.8 atmosphere score tells you what to expect before you sit down—modern Latin design, candlelight, open kitchen. The food and service both hold a 4.6, which at this price point means the kitchen is consistent and the staff knows the wine list. Fine dining here leans into pan-Latin technique rather than straight Mexican, so expect composed plates and deliberate plating. The value rating sits at 4.2, which is honest for the category—you're paying for the room and the execution, not just the protein. If you want a dressed-up dinner on the corridor without driving all the way into town, this works. Reservations help, especially in high season when the terrace fills early.

Beaches nearby

Cabo San Lucas

Playa Grande Cabo

Playa Grande sits on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas, and it's not called "Grande" for nothing — wide sand, big surf, and even bigger riptides. This is not a swimming beach. The shore break and currents are strong enough that lifeguards spend most of their time waving people back to dry sand. What it does offer is space. Compared to the packed hotel beaches on the bay side, Playa Grande stretches out with room to walk, and the wave watching is legitimate if you're into that. Locals bodyboard here when conditions line up, but they know the breaks and the pull — tourists should stay on the sand. If you're looking for a postcard Pacific backdrop and don't mind skipping the water, it works. Just don't test the current. The ocean wins.
