About

Hacienda Don Ramon sits in San José del Cabo with a perfect 5-star rating, though the fifteen reviews tell a smaller story than the big resorts down the road. The subratings—food, value, and service all landing at 3.7—suggest a solidly consistent experience rather than fireworks. Mid-range pricing keeps it accessible without chasing the high-dollar tourist corridor crowd. The place delivers what it promises: reliable service, fair portions, and no major complaints in the fundamentals. That consistency matters when you're deciding where to eat for the third or fourth night of a trip and you just want something dependable. The perfect overall rating with modest subratings is an odd split—either recent visits have been stronger, or guests grade on effort and atmosphere as much as execution. If you're staying in San José and want a neighborhood spot without the beachfront markup, it's worth a look. Just don't expect it to rewrite your understanding of Baja cuisine.

Tours & things to do nearby

Arch of Cabo San Lucas

The Arch sits at the southern tip of the Baja peninsula, where the Pacific meets the Sea of Cortez. You reach it by water taxi from the marina or Médano Beach — most people do a quick loop, snap photos, and head back. The 4.8 rating across nearly 9,000 reviews reflects what it is: a reliable postcard moment, no tricks. The rock formation marks Land's End, and depending on the tide, you'll see sea lion colonies on the rocks and sometimes pelicans stacked on the outcroppings. Water taxis run constantly during daylight hours, and some will drop you at Lover's Beach on the Cortez side if you want to wade. The Pacific side (Divorce Beach) has a serious undertow — people look, they don't swim. It's the thing everyone does once. Go early or late to dodge the midday boat clusters. The ride out takes ten minutes, you get your shot, and you're done. If you skip it, you'll end up seeing it from every other boat trip anyway.

Blue Sky Cabo Fishing and Tours

Blue Sky Cabo Fishing and Tours operates from F Dock in the Cabo San Lucas marina, and the 5 out of 5 rating across nearly 6,000 reviews puts them in rare territory. Most charter operations in Cabo cluster around 4.5 stars — this one doesn't. The volume matters as much as the score. Five thousand reviews means hundreds of boats went out, came back, and enough people felt compelled to say something that the average held. That's consistency at scale, which is harder to fake than a handful of perfect scores. Whether it's the crew, the boat condition, or how they handle rough days, something's working. They run fishing charters and tours from the marina, which is the standard launching point for anything heading into the Sea of Cortez or around the arch. If you're comparing operators, this is one where the data actually separates from the pack.

All Ways Cabo Transportation

All Ways Cabo Transportation runs airport pickups and private transfers around the Los Cabos corridor. The 5-star rating across more than 4,300 reviews suggests consistent execution on something simple: drivers show up on time, vehicles are clean, and you don't haggle at baggage claim. They're based in El Tezal, just inland from Cabo San Lucas, which keeps them close to the airport run. The volume of feedback points to reliable logistics — useful when you're coordinating flights, resort check-ins, or day trips between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Private transport here cuts out the shuttle wait and the shared-van detours. You book in advance, someone meets you with a sign, and you're moving. If your group has gear, golf clubs, or you're just not interested in figuring out taxi rates after a flight, this is the straightforward option.

Flora's Field Kitchen

Flora's Field Kitchen is a farm-to-table restaurant out in Animas Bajas, about twenty minutes east of San José del Cabo. It sits on a working organic farm, which means the menu changes based on what's ready — mostly salads, wood-fired pizzas, and composed plates that lean vegetable-forward. The atmosphere rating (4.8) isn't surprising; you're eating outside under trees with rows of crops on all sides, and it feels a world away from the hotel zone. The food scores higher than the value, which tracks — portions are moderate and prices reflect the ingredients and the setting. Service is polished without feeling formal. Reservations help, especially on weekends when the brunch crowd shows up. It's a popular stop for people staying in the East Cape or anyone looking for something slower and greener than the beachfront scene.

Habanero's Gastro Grill

Habanero's Gastro Grill is on Morelos in the center of San José del Cabo, a block or two back from the art district. It's been open long enough to rack up 1,600-plus reviews and still hold a 4.5, which tells you something about consistency. The food subrating edges above the rest at 4.6, and the value rating at 4.4 suggests they're not gouging tourists on mid-range pricing. The menu skews modern Mexican with grill work—hence the name—and the kitchen clearly delivers more than standard resort fare. Service runs tight at 4.6, so expect your plates when they're supposed to arrive. The atmosphere rating sits a notch lower at 4.3, which probably means the room is functional but not trying to be a scene. It's a solid pick if you're staying in San José and want something better than average without crossing into the fine-dining column. Reservations help on weekends.

Baja Brewing Companies original brewing location with 15+ years of history located in the heart of the historic downtown art district, San Jose Del Cabo.

Baja Brewing San José Del Cabo | Cantina

Baja Brewing San José del Cabo sits in the historic center, a block or two off the main plaza on Morelos. It's the brewery-meets-cantina version of the original up the coast — beer made on-site, pub menu that runs beyond the usual fish tacos. The 4.5 rating across 1,300+ reviews is consistent: food, service, and atmosphere all land in the same range, which means they're not coasting on the beer alone. The atmosphere score edges slightly higher, probably because of the patio and the fact that it's one of the few spots in the old town where you can sit outside with a flight and not feel like you're in a postcard shop. Mid-range pricing keeps it accessible, and the value subrating suggests portions hold up. If you want something darker or hoppier than a Corona and you're already walking the art district, this works. Gets busy Thursday through Saturday evenings.

Cabo San Lucas

Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Golf & Spa Resort

Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach sits on the Pacific side just north of Cabo San Lucas, perched above a cliff where the ocean runs too rough for swimming but the views make up for it. The resort shuttles guests to a calmer beach club down the coast, and most people seem fine with the trade-off — the 4.5 overall rating across 26,000+ reviews holds steady, with cleanliness scoring highest at 4.6 and service matching the overall mark. It's a large property with a full spa, golf access, and multiple pools that cascade down the hillside. Rooms and sleep quality both land at 4.4, which is solid for a resort at this scale. Value comes in at 4.2, suggesting it's priced where you'd expect for the amenities and location. The Pacific-side setting means sunsets are the main event, and the resort leans into that with terraces and dining spaces angled west. If you want calm water steps from your room, this isn't it. If you want space, service, and a dramatic coastline, it delivers.

Cabo San Lucas

Grand Solmar Land's End Resort & Spa

Grand Solmar Land's End sits at the very tip of the Baja Peninsula in Cabo San Lucas, where the Pacific meets the Sea of Cortez. The location rating of 4.9 reflects the reality — you're at the edge of everything, with direct views of the Arch and genuinely private beach access that most Cabo resorts can't offer. The rooms also pull 4.9, and the cleanliness score matches it, which is rare at scale. With over 6,400 reviews holding at 4.8 overall, the service consistency is real. The value score of 4.6 suggests it's priced above mid-tier but doesn't lean into the ultra-luxury premium some neighbors charge. Worth noting: you're on the Pacific side, so the swimming conditions depend on the day. The resort shuttle into downtown Cabo runs regularly if you want the marina scene, but most guests stay put.

Cabo San Lucas

PLAYA GRANDE RESORT

Playa Grande Resort is on Médano Beach in central Cabo San Lucas, steps from the marina and the main strip. The 4.7 location score makes sense — you can walk to most of what people come to Cabo San Lucas for, and the beach here is swimmable, which isn't true everywhere on the Pacific side. The 4.6 overall rating across nearly 9,000 reviews suggests it delivers consistently. Cleanliness matches at 4.7, and service holds at 4.6. Rooms and sleep quality both hit 4.5 or better, which is solid for a beachfront property where noise can be an issue. Value sits at 4.4, fair for the location. This is a resort that works if you want to be in the middle of the action without paying top-tier rates. You're trading some polish for proximity. Médano Beach means jet skis, beach vendors, and restaurant access — it's lively, not secluded.

Don Sanchez Restaurant

Don Sanchez sits on Boulevard Mijares in the heart of San José del Cabo's art district, and it's one of the few fine-dining spots in town that locals actually recommend. The 4.7 food rating across more than 1,300 reviews tells you what you need to know — the kitchen is consistent and the menu doesn't rely on tricks. Service matches the same 4.7, which matters when you're paying fine-dining prices and the room is full. The atmosphere rating is equally high, so expect tablecloths and a slower pace than the taco stands down the street. The value subrating sits at 4.4, which is solid for the category — fine dining in Cabo can feel extractive, and this doesn't. If you're spending a night in San José and want a proper dinner without driving back toward the Corridor, this is the move.
