About

Sushi Unagi Cabo is a small sushi spot on Avenida Los Cabos in San José del Cabo with a perfect five-star rating, though it's still building a review base with only three on record. That clean score suggests early diners are finding something they like, but the sample size is too narrow to call it established yet. The name points to unagi—grilled eel—as a specialty, which isn't standard issue at every Cabo sushi counter. If you're tracking down eel prep done right, or just want to try a newer place before the crowds catch on, it's worth flagging. The quiet location and limited reviews mean it likely runs tight and small. Go with reasonable expectations. Three reviews can swing fast. If you're the type who hunts down lesser-known spots early, this fits. If you need proven consistency and volume, wait a few months and check back.

Tours & things to do nearby

Eliker Transfer Cabo Transportation

Eliker Transfer Cabo Transportation runs airport shuttles and private transfers in Cabo San Lucas, operating out of El Caribe neighborhood. The 5-star rating across nearly 3,000 reviews is unusually consistent for ground transport — most services in this category hover closer to 4 stars once volume picks up. That suggests the basics get handled: drivers show up, vehicles are clean, routes are direct. The review count puts this among the most-used transport options in Cabo, which means you're not betting on a one-truck operation. Private transfers typically beat shared shuttles on convenience, especially if your hotel is outside the main hotel zone, but expect to pay the difference. Airport pickup coordination matters more here than in cities with rail or rideshare saturation — confirm your flight details and have a backup contact number saved offline.

Running Tours Los Cabos

Running Tours Los Cabos operates out of Puerto Paraíso mall in Cabo San Lucas, meeting by the fountain. The 5/5 rating across 90 reviews is unusually clean for a tour operator — most pick up a few cranks along the way. The concept is straightforward: guided runs through Cabo instead of van tours, so you see the town on foot at dawn or dusk when it's not blazing hot. The format works if you're already a runner and want to knock out miles while getting oriented. You're not jogging alone through unfamiliar streets, and the guide handles route-finding and context. It's also a way to meet other travelers who run. If you don't run regularly, this isn't a casual walking tour — the pace is actual running. Check what distance and speed they're planning before you commit.

Baja Cali Surf

Baja Cali Surf runs lessons and excursions out of Cabo San Lucas, and the 5-out-of-5 rating across 48 reviews suggests they've figured out the teaching part. Surf instruction in Cabo tends to sort into two camps: cattle-call operations that herd twenty beginners into the same break, and smaller outfits that actually watch what you're doing wrong. The rating here points to the latter — people mention patience and genuine coaching, not just a wetsuit rental and a push. Most lessons happen at beginner-friendly spots along the Pacific side, where the waves cooperate and the bottom is forgiving. If you've never stood on a board, that matters. If you have, they'll adjust. The consistency in reviews implies they're not farming this out to whoever showed up that morning.

Flora's Field Kitchen

Flora's Field Kitchen is a farm-to-table restaurant out in Animas Bajas, about twenty minutes east of San José del Cabo. It sits on a working organic farm, which means the menu changes based on what's ready — mostly salads, wood-fired pizzas, and composed plates that lean vegetable-forward. The atmosphere rating (4.8) isn't surprising; you're eating outside under trees with rows of crops on all sides, and it feels a world away from the hotel zone. The food scores higher than the value, which tracks — portions are moderate and prices reflect the ingredients and the setting. Service is polished without feeling formal. Reservations help, especially on weekends when the brunch crowd shows up. It's a popular stop for people staying in the East Cape or anyone looking for something slower and greener than the beachfront scene.

Habanero's Gastro Grill

Habanero's Gastro Grill is on Morelos in the center of San José del Cabo, a block or two back from the art district. It's been open long enough to rack up 1,600-plus reviews and still hold a 4.5, which tells you something about consistency. The food subrating edges above the rest at 4.6, and the value rating at 4.4 suggests they're not gouging tourists on mid-range pricing. The menu skews modern Mexican with grill work—hence the name—and the kitchen clearly delivers more than standard resort fare. Service runs tight at 4.6, so expect your plates when they're supposed to arrive. The atmosphere rating sits a notch lower at 4.3, which probably means the room is functional but not trying to be a scene. It's a solid pick if you're staying in San José and want something better than average without crossing into the fine-dining column. Reservations help on weekends.

Baja Brewing San José Del Cabo | Cantina

Baja Brewing San José del Cabo sits in the historic center, a block or two off the main plaza on Morelos. It's the brewery-meets-cantina version of the original up the coast — beer made on-site, pub menu that runs beyond the usual fish tacos. The 4.5 rating across 1,300+ reviews is consistent: food, service, and atmosphere all land in the same range, which means they're not coasting on the beer alone. The atmosphere score edges slightly higher, probably because of the patio and the fact that it's one of the few spots in the old town where you can sit outside with a flight and not feel like you're in a postcard shop. Mid-range pricing keeps it accessible, and the value subrating suggests portions hold up. If you want something darker or hoppier than a Corona and you're already walking the art district, this works. Gets busy Thursday through Saturday evenings.

Pacific Side

Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos - All Inclusive

Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos sits in the Diamante development on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas, away from the main tourist strip. The all-inclusive setup leans into the brand: poolside DJ sets, multiple restaurants, and a music-forward vibe that pulls in families and groups who want everything in one place. With nearly 10,000 reviews holding a 4.5, it's doing something right—rooms and service both score 4.7, and cleanliness runs tight across the property. The real story is consistency at scale. Most all-inclusives this size start to crack somewhere—usually food quality or room upkeep—but the subratings here stay level. Sleep quality sits at 4.6, which matters more than marketing when you're dealing with events and late-night energy. Value comes in at 4.4, typical for the tier. It's not a quiet retreat, and the Pacific surf is rougher than the bay beaches downtown, but if you're after poolside convenience with reliable execution, it delivers.

Pacific Side

Nobu Hotel Los Cabos

Nobu Hotel Los Cabos sits on the Pacific side, tucked into the Diamante development west of Cabo San Lucas proper. It's the branded extension of the restaurant empire, so yes, there's a Nobu kitchen on-site, and yes, the aesthetic carries through—minimalist Japanese touches, lots of white stone, that whole calm-luxury thing. The 4.8 rating across 3,000+ reviews holds up in every subcategory: rooms, sleep quality, service, and cleanliness all land at or near the top. Value scores a bit lower, which tracks—you're paying for the name and the polish. The location score sits at 4.4, which makes sense. You're trading downtown proximity for a quieter stretch of coastline and more space. If you want walkable nightlife or the marina scene, you'll need a car or rideshare. If you want a pool day, good fish, and a room that actually stays clean, this does the job without the circus.

Cabo San Lucas

Novaispania

Novaispania is a small resort in downtown Cabo San Lucas, tucked into the Paraiso Escondido neighborhood a few blocks from the marina. The 4.8 overall rating comes from near-perfect scores in the things that tend to fall apart at larger properties: sleep quality, cleanliness, and service all hit 4.9. That consistency across 175 reviews suggests tight operations and a staff that knows the roster by name. The location subrating is equally high, which makes sense if you want walkable access to restaurants and nightlife without sitting directly on top of it. Rooms score a 4.8, and the value rating of 4.6 indicates guests feel the cost lines up with what they're getting. This isn't a beachfront compound, so set expectations accordingly, but if you prioritize quiet sleep and attentive service over resort sprawl, the numbers back it up.

San José del Cabo

Spicy Tuna Sushi Bar

Spicy Tuna Sushi Bar operates out of a small plaza on the malecón in San José del Cabo, where the sushi comes out fast and the prices stay reasonable. The 4.8 food rating holds up — people come back for consistent execution on rolls and sashimi without the resort markup. Service moves at the same pace, which matters when you're feeding kids or just want to eat and walk the waterfront. The atmosphere is casual, more counter-service than white-tablecloth, and that's reflected in the value score. You're not booking ahead or waiting for a table. You order, you sit, you eat. The mid-range price tier means you can bring a family without calculating the damage, and the menu skews accessible rather than omakase-precious. It's a functional stop in a tourist zone that hasn't slipped into phone-it-in territory. If you want sushi in San José without the ceremony, this works.

San José del Cabo

Nido

Nido sits on the malecón in San José del Cabo's Hotel Zone, and the 4.8 atmosphere score tells the story—it's the kind of Japanese seafood spot where the setting does half the work. The cuisine leans into coastal Japan by way of Baja: sashimi, nigiri, and rolls built around what's fresh, with a few grilled plates that bridge the gap. Fine dining here means presentation and plating, not necessarily rigid formality, though the upscale vibe and price tier keep it firmly in the special-occasion category. The 4.6 overall rating across 123 reviews holds steady on all fronts—food, service, and value each land around 4.4 to 4.5, which suggests consistency more than fireworks. You're paying for the waterfront perch and the polish. It's not kid-friendly, and there's no mention of dietary accommodations, so plan accordingly. Reservations aren't required, but walking in on a weekend sunset might test your patience.
